Camera Motion from Image

Updated over a week ago

Enhance your cinematic storytelling through precise camera framing, movement, and positioning. Marey lets you animate camera paths around subjects in 3D space, even from a single 2D source image.

How to Use Camera Motion from Image

Marey first needs to process your keyframe image as a 3D scene. Once the 3D scene has been rendered, you are then able to animate and keyframe a virtual camera to match your desired shot. Here's a breakdown of how that works:

  1. Select Camera motion from image under Controls in the generation console

  2. Upload the image you want to turn into a 3D render and add camera motion to. This can be anything--an AI generated image or real-world photo that you need to iterate on. When you've made your selection, click 'Open'.

  3. After you've made your image selection, you'll be prompted to 'Direct camera motion'. Click 'Begin' and wait while the scene is created. You'll see 'Preparing 3D scene' and a progress bar while it's processing.

  4. Once the 3D render is ready, you'll have the option to select 'Edit' to open up the camera motion console.

  5. Select time stamps in the video to indicate sections of the video that will have a specific camera motion. If you want one smooth motion, place the market at the end of the video.

  6. Reference the available movements below the render (i.e. WASD keys to move the camera, R/F for up/down, Left click drag to rotate, Right click drag to pan, etc.) and apply the one you'd like at the market by using the designated keys.

  7. You can add additional markers to create different motion paths and can hit play to preview the motion you've added.

  8. Once you're happy with the motion paths, click Render to prepare the paths to generate.

  9. Write a prompt to describe the video, including the keyframe and the camera motion you've added to ensure consistency.

  10. (Optional) Update the Intensity to test how strongly the camera motion is applied and see which setting works best.

  11. Hit generate and wait for your video to be ready. If you aren't happy with the output, rate it and re-generate with a different prompt or Intensity Level.
